“On behalf of the Ontario Craft Brewers, I congratulate
our members, Brick Brewing Company, Great Lakes Brewery and Walkerville
Brewing Company, on their outstanding wins at the World Cup of
Beer. Ontario craft beers are firmly established as among the
best tasting, premium beers in the world. These wins validate
the passion and commitment to quality of Ontario’s craft
brew masters,” said John Hay, President of The Ontario
Craft Brewers Association.
Brick’s Formosa Genuine Draft is a traditional draft lager
with a bright, golden colour. A crisp smooth black lager, Great
Lakes’ Black Jack Premium Lager is aged with a blend of
four premium malts from the U.K. and Canada, and balanced with
fresh hops and Swiss yeast. Brewed by the 2004 “Canadian
Brewery of the Year,” Walkerville Lager is a full-bodied,
spicy and crisp beer with a bright amber colour and creamy white
head. For information on the winning breweries, visit their websites

The Ontario Craft Brewers
The Ontario Craft Brewers are 30 small
brewers dedicated to brewing great tasting beer in Ontario. The
30 Ontario Craft Brewers brew their beers locally in communities
throughout Ontario – from
Carleton Place to Windsor and Niagara Falls to Bracebridge.
Today’s craft-brewing industry in Ontario began its renaissance
in 1984 when Jim Brickman became the province’s first
craft brewer. Soon after, several other independent breweries
joined the movement with a focus on handcrafted beers.
Ontario craft beers can be found at the breweries’ retail
stores, pubs, restaurants, and select LCBO and The Beer Store
locations throughout Ontario. For more information on The Ontario
